Food
The Food Sector of Social Action Services (SAS) has several food units, distributed among the various campuses of the University of Algarve: 3 canteens, 2 grill restaurants, 7 bars and 1 restaurant. Prices in all units are subsidized to the academic population.
With quality and diversity ensured, thousands of meals are served every day in the canteens and restaurants of the SAS. The menus include the choice between a meat or fish dish, and a vegetarian dish, always under the guidance of a nutritionist. The full meal includes: soup, main course, bread, dessert (sweet or fruit) and drink (water or machine juice).
The two largest canteens are located on the Campus da Penha, with 402 seats, and on the Campus of Gambelas, with 594 seats.
In the bars of the SAS, the academic population can have light meals or just have a coffee on a break between classes.
The Food sector also provides support for initiatives and events held at the University of Algarve throughout the year.
